As an LGBT non christian, I can personally attest the person below me obviously has a personal bias/conflict of interest against Whitworth. Sure, Spokane is a bit different than say Seattle, but all of my professors have showed love and support for me when I was dealing with detrimental mental health regardless if they agreed with my life decisions. The majority of the staff here truly care about the students. They will always make time to help and to make sure students succeed.

Edit:
Why go to a Christian school if it against your political views and doesn’t offer the little degree you want? Have a positive mental attitude. And quit blaming others for your mental health issues.

The nice campus is such a huge distraction to how terrible of an experience it is to attend this school. The students are very close minded, unwelcoming, and make this place feel like some sort of cult. If you are anything but white and christian, prepare to be an outcast. The professors do not care about your wellbeing or grasp of the class- look up frank caccavo on ratemyprofessor. You will most likely be getting him if you are in STEM. I would not go here if you have any desire to enjoy your time at university or have a social life.

As an LGBTQ non Christian I can attest that the person below me does not see that people can have different experiences. So far during my first month here I'm already an outcast, my mental is drained to the point I'm thinking just giving up because of this damn school and even if I was having a good time I am so limited here. They have so little degrees, degrees I could want are continuing studies only-- classes are full so people I know can't even get into classes needed for their major and in my own case I can't get any classes that might be beneficial to me. Anthropology in a Christian school? What's that? You have to go to Hawaii to take it? Honestly do what you want but I wouldn't touch this school with a 100ft pole as so far it is the worst education I've ever received and I've been to American public schools

I recently held an event there and the staff couldn't have been more gracious, patient, helpful and friendly. The students were also extremely friendly, polite and went out of their way to help me hen I had my hands full carrying items into the building for my event. Beautiful campus and they have a lot to be proud of!

What a beautiful campus! We took a tour as it was a possible place for our daughter to go to school, and we all loved the place. There's a definite homey atmosphere here and everyone was genuinely friendly and helpful. What we learned about the school, especially when compared to nearby Gonzaga, resulted in my daughter enrolling at Whitworth. The campus is small but roomy, not cramped at all, and it's gorgeous...they really take great care of the grounds. The buildings are all very well kept and comfortable, especially the dorms. The recreation building is especially nice, too. We ate in the common dining hall and the food was very good, as was the selection.

As a non-rightwing Christian, I can't stress enough how good Whitworth is. It seems very accepting of everyone, every faith, yet they seem to have a strong sense of their own faith and purpose, and we get the feeling that our daughter will have an excellent 4 years at Whitworth.

Also, for prospective students, I suggest doing well in high school to take advantage of the many opportunities at Whitworth. And, speaking as a parent who'll be paying the bills, Whitworth does a superb job in helping with financial aid, especially grants and discounts. We earn too much to get any financial aid, but Whitworth offers more discounts than any other dozen+ schools we looked at, even my own alma mater, Seattle Pacific University.

I loved my experience at Whitworth as a student for both undergrad and grad school. Professors and staff truly care and want to support students in any way possible. Financial aid staff are beyond helpful and treat you like members of their family from day one. And, the warm, welcoming student community helps you feel at home the minute you step on campus. It’s the exact type of place you’ll want to call home for the next 4 years. If I could do it all over again, I’d choose Whitworth in a heartbeat.
