GIRLS, if you want to stay in the girl's dormitory of this haliç university, I just want you to know that the administration does not fulfill its promises here. I'm telling you this from my own experience. I lived there, and I liked everything. I thought that I would come back and live there again during my studies, and therefore I left my things in the dorm's storage room. I PUT EVERYTHING NEATLY IN BOXES, MARKED MY NAME AND BY TRUSTING THEM, LEFT MY THINGS THERE. When I wanted to take my things back, I saw how THEY OPENED ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. Roughly speaking, they might even have rummaged through things, since they had opened everything. Everything got mixed up with other girls' stuff, books and etc‍♀️Someone's something has broken, another lost a pair of shoes (my friends shared this with me). I also heard rumors that the security or whoever else put our things in bags and put them in new boxes ( only those, whose boxes were in poor condition). I believed it and stopped worrying about my stuff. But when I saw my boxes in terrible condition, I stopped trusting their staff. Looking at these photos below, you will probably think that it's okay. But anyway, these are our things. At least they could put my things back inside the boxes and glue them together again, instead of leaving them just like that? What is this?! Okay, let's say they didn't put my stuff in new bags or boxes, since they were already well glued together. But I didn't understand, and THE QUESTION IS, WHAT THE HELL DID THEY OPEN OUR BOXES? THEY LEFT EVERYTHING LIKE THAT. I asked the guards to help glue them back together, but they didn't fix it. That's what I wanted to say girls, if you want to leave your things in the dormitory (not only in this dorm, but in any) when you are going to your country for a long time, even for a month, I DO NOT ADVISE YOU TO LEAVE YOUR STUFF IN A STORAGE ROOM. I know it's hard to carry things back and forth. BUT BETTER TAKE THEM AWAY, ALONG WITH YOU! THANKS GOD I didn't pay them the $400 deposit in advance. I SAW THE RESULT! I SAW HOW THEY ACTUALLY TREAT OUR THINGS, NOT REALIZING THAT WE CHOSE THIS PARTICULAR DORMITORY, CONSIDERING IT THE "BEST", because it's located at the Haliç university itself and has good conditions. I have no right to slander without knowing why they did it. In general, this dormitory has lost my trust in themKnow that by this, THIS DORMİTORY HAS LOST, IS LOSING AND WILL LOSE ITS RATINGS. International students are not treated so well here. If we ask them to do something, they don't do it. THINK CAREFULLY, IS IT REALLY WORTH IT Foreign students pay MORE for the dormitory than local residents. AFTER ALL, WE PAY IN DOLLARS, TWICE AS MUCH AS THE LOCALS! Thus, the entire staff of the dormitories should respect us. We don't deserve a bad disrespectful attitude from the dormitories abroad! I believe that soon or by time, this dormitory will lose the trust of many other international students as well !!

Her sene derslerle alakalı sorun yaşıyoruz. Okulun sistemi asla oturmuyor. Öğrencileri madur ediyorlar

Telefonla iletişim kuramadığım bir okul maalesef. 3 haftadır Öğrenci belgesi alamadığımız için yarın son tarihli burs başvurum belge eksikliğinden onaylanmiyor. Öğrenci işleri ise yarın sistemde görünür diye diye so güne geldik üzgünüm

If you are considering comming here for Erasmus. DO NOT. After the first week of activities theres literally no events. Copared to other unis it's laughable since they have events going on once or twice a week, some even go as far as organizing trips to various parts of Turkey like Cappadocia. The coordnators here are also mean and have an attidute, like they don't even want to be here, and always make you feel unwelcome in thier office. Not only that, the university itself doesn't organize any events also, and the out of all the lessons I attended, every single one of them consisted of teachers reading stuff out of powerpoint. It's not that big of a deal since learning isn't your priority on Erasmus but still. I feel sorry for anyone spending thier precious time attending this uni when so many better alternatives are out there. I was lucky enough to make a small group and we hung out every week, but I know there were people that didn't make any strong connections after first week of activities, and they were alone for the whole semester. Istanbull is a great place and if you are looking to get the most of it, then I recommend going into Aydın or Marmara.
