My girlfriend goes to this university and plays sports. She loves her sports atmosphere, her coach, and her teammates. The school's administrators, professors, and staff generally don't seem like they are there to help, rather than make money. I understand colleges are busy, but never answering the phone is ridiculous. She has a student advisor who does her best but isn't very responsive. This fall semester, she was unenrolled by the school. Westcliff sent an email saying that the system malfunctioned and many students got unenrolled. She eventually got enrolled 2 weeks into the semester; her professors gave her ridiculous timelines to finish work, which wasn't her fault for the first place coming into the course 2 weeks in. She copies her advisor in every email, and she responds with please complete the work, my hands are tied essentially. If this is your last option for college, take it. Rare hybrid classes, rare online classes, make sure you have a solid form of transportation to Irvine because attendance is a quarter of the grade. I am not a fan of the university at all; just here to support my girlfriend.

International Students BEWARE! I would not recommend this university to any student because of their incompetent administrative staff and the process. Often international advisors provide wrong information or takes more than 5 follow ups to get things done. They have no concept of urgency or timely-manner. They often misalign the classes, put you in a wrong format, makes blunders in your i-20 and it becomes your responsibility as a student to talk to 15 different people at least 20 times to get it resolved. Student services advisors are no different.

Their current diploma delivery wait time is 120-150 days. imagine taking 5 months to print out a diploma and send it you. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Their phone lines are 90% of the time not entertained. Advisors and administrators takes days and several follow ups to reply to a simple email. This university is distributing admissions to international students to make profits, but have no administrative or otherwise capability to manage them.

This is my last semester at Westcliff University, and throughout the past two years, I’ve repeatedly called the university regarding various concerns. Unfortunately, no one ever answers the phone or returns my messages, even though, as international students, we often have important questions about things like CPT and OPT. When I visited the campus to pay my fees, the front desk informed me that sometimes the accounting department is closed. If the university continues to make these false promises, I strongly suggest hiring someone better suited to help students efficiently. It’s frustrating that no one is addressing these critical concerns.
